 1.Summary

In the two online courses taught, we were taught how to properly leave a message on someone's home page in order for them to see it, how to accept messages from others, how to make our signatures prettier, and how to mention other users in our replies, among other practical uses. Why it is important to learn Wikipedia was also discussed. The professor mentioned that because Wikipedia hosts so many sources of information in the modern world, and is also being embraced by more and more people, learning Wikipedia is also a job skill, which also helps to understand how an Internet-based organization should function and how to manage oneself as an online citizen. In the first reading material, I learned about the importance and value of Wikipedia as an open and collaborative community. Wikipedia's success comes from its unique collaborative model and community culture, which has made it one of the most popular sites on the Internet. Therefore, the authors believe that the development and operation of Wikipedia is worthy of in-depth study by scholars. At the same time, the authors also urge that people should have a deeper understanding of the value and significance embodied in Wikipedia, and that the community effort and volunteerism represented by Wikipedia are a greater reflection of the important impact of knowledge sharing. The second author mentions that Wikipedia's books are similar to Wikipedia in that the books are also open content available online for free. He also thanked everyone who made it possible to release the book online under a Creative Commons license. The last author describes his motivation for choosing to study Wikipedia, the methodology and process of his research, and concludes by acknowledging some of the people who have meant a lot to him, in order to show the reflection, exploration, and gratitude that the author has experienced during his research on Wikipedia.

2.Interesting point

Wikipedia is not only a platform for providing knowledge, but has also become a source of teaching resources. Professors have utilized the openness and extensiveness of Wikipedia to teach students how to properly use Wikipedia for online communication and collaboration, and have even taught techniques such as how to leave a message and how to accept messages. This shows that Wikipedia not only plays an important role in knowledge transfer, but also has some potential in education and training. This innovative use of Wikipedia as a teaching resource is likely to receive increasing attention and application in the future.

3.Discussion

In an open and collaborative community like Wikipedia, how do you balance personal expression with community cooperation?
