I learned the intricacies of creating and editing articles, adhering to community guidelines, and participating in discussions on discussion pages. In the process, I learned the importance of citations, the value of neutrality in presenting information, and the need to respect different points of view. My personal skills have improved significantly. I discovered that Wikipedia is more than just a platform for information; it is a living organism that is constantly evolving through the combined efforts of its editors. Every edit, no matter how small, has the potential to affect the understanding of millions of people. Having realized this, I am even more aware of the responsibility that comes with contributing to such a powerful knowledge-sharing platform. How is this assignment different from more traditional student assignments?  A Wiki...

I prefer to use Wikipedia when searching for information. This is because when I am searching for some knowledge that I have never known before, I value the authenticity and reliability of the content more, especially for the more specialized information, I need reliable sources more than anything else. So I'm more comfortable with the information Wikipedia gives me.

1.Summary In the reading material, the author focuses on the leadership and governance structure in Wikipedia and the role of leaders in this open content community. In the beginning, Wikipedia editors were considered equals with no clear leader, while administrators were only given specific permissions such as managing protected pages, deleting pages, or temporarily blocking vandalized sources. As Wikipedia grew, new levels of governance and roles emerged, including administrators, bureaucrats, the Administrators' Committee (ArbCom), and the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Directors. Wikipedia promotes editorial equality, in which leaders play an important role in the community. They have been described as "benevolent dictators", although this is not a title they have accepted.
