1. Summary
The freedom and openness of Wikipedia is not the ideal of complete
freedom and total openness. This openness and freedom is relative in nature.
Although Wikipedia as a platform is open and allows anyone to edit and view
content, there are limitations. It is not absolutely open and free in order to
maintain the quality and credibility of the content and to comply with legal
and ethical guidelines.
2. Interesting points
Wikipedia wants to create a free, developed platform that anyone can
participate in. However, there are still many problems that need to be solved
regarding discrimination, transparency, and so on. Because it is impossible for
all participants to guarantee that their positions and opinions are absolutely
fair when editing, even though Wikipedia has made regulations about the
accuracy of the content. However, this does not fundamentally solve the
conflict between Wikipedia's openness and content accuracy.
3. Questions
What should be done to ensure
the accuracy of content while maintaining the openness and freedom of
Wikipedia?
Multiple users are called upon to co-monitor and manage, and some controversial sensitive articles are only allowed to be edited by higher-level professional users.Would that be better?
