 How do I make sure that the content you add to Wikipedia doesn't infringe on copyright?

1.Summary

 First of all, we need to understand the nature of Wikipedia as a website  to avoid encountering copyright infringement problems while editing it. Wikipedia is a global, freely accessible encyclopedia that relies on the selfless contributions of volunteers from around the world for its operation and content. As Wikipedia has improved over time, the volume of content on the platform has also grown, leading to an increase in  copyright issues. In order to ensure that the content we add to Wikipedia is not infringed upon, we first have to understand the basic concepts of copyright and  Wikipedia's copyright policy. When editing Wikipedia content, we should always adhere to the fair use principle. Secondly, whenever possible, we should utilize our own original content, such as photos we have taken or diagrams we have created, to ensure that we have full copyright ownership of such material. Secondly, we must also have a detailed understanding of the concept of public domain and the rules governing the duration of copyright protection. Works in the public domain can be used freely. However, it is crucial to verify that the copyright protection period has expired and that there are no other copyright restrictions. Thirdly, one must always check their edited content regularly and pay attention to their homepage message information. The reason for this is to ensure that the edited content and materials are still compliant with the copyright policy. However, there are also open licenses available on Wikipedia. Look for and take advantage of Creative Commons licenses or similar licenses that permit others to use, modify, and share the content. When using this content, ensure to adhere to the appropriate license conditions and cite sources correctly.

2.Interesting point

 Because Wikipedia is a global encyclopedia, Wikipedia owes its success today to the selfless contributions of editors around the world. So the editors are not only affecting their local communities, but also the global user community in the process of editing. It's also amazing to me that Wikipedia has very good laws and policies for a non-profit website that is not run by capitalists. But it's also because of the very good policies that Wikipedia is what it is today. And in the collective wisdom of the community, the editors have adopted a more democratic decision-making mechanism, so that all editors have the power to participate in the discussion and formulation of copyright policy. It's also amazing to me how inclusive Wikipedia's editors are.

 Since Wikipedia is a global online platform and the edited content involves different countries and regions, and the copyright laws and regulations in each country and region are different, is there a need to formulate a more unified standard of copyright law to guide the Wikipedia community in dealing with copyright issues?

    Given the global diversity in copyright laws, creating a single unified standard for Wikipedia is challenging. Instead, the platform uses a mix of community guidelines, Creative Commons licenses, and educational initiatives to manage copyright issues across different jurisdictions effectively.
