However, this leadership style is controversial as it may lead to abuse of power or bias. Leaders need to find a balance between exercising authority and respecting community democracy. Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, is described as a "benevolent dictator," although he prefers to call himself a "constitutional monarch." His leadership style includes participating in discussions, providing advice, and supporting community decisions while respecting and enforcing these decisions. Despite this, concerns about his influence and abuse of power persist and need to be continuously reviewed and balanced. The leadership structure of Wikipedia is a unique hybrid model that combines bottom-up collaboration and top-down governance. While there are formal roles and procedures, the core of Wikipedia remains the shared values and rules maintained by the community, emphasizing principles of openness, transparency, and democracy. Overall, leaders remain crucial in open content communities, facing significant challenges and responsibilities. Despite the community's pursuit of cooperation and consensus, the presence of leaders is necessary to handle disputes and prevent malicious behavior. However, this leadership must be exercised with caution to avoid abuse of power or undermining the community's spirit of equality. Open content communities need to continually explore and practice appropriate leadership models to achieve shared goals and values.

2.Interesting Point

The Wikipedia governance structure mentioned in this chapter shows that, despite its anarchic characteristics, Wikipedia is not an anarchic community. For all its democratic elements, Wikipedia is not a democracy. It was not aristocratic, although it had some aristocratic characteristics. Similarly, despite the shadow of a monarchy, Wikipedia is not a monarchy. These reflections highlight the complexity and diversity of governance models in open content communities

3.Discussion

At the end of the chapter, it is pointed out that an informal benevolent dictator acts as a gentle guide in the community, mediating disputes between honest members of the community and defending against sabotage by malicious actors. Through these actions, they gained important symbolic status in the community and attracted attention from the outside world. The chapter concludes by emphasizing that "when one's responsibilities exceed what one's individual will can bear, the new responsibilities and powers are like a tautted wire that must be carefully handled under the watchful eye of one's peers." Therefore, we need to explore how to allow the image of a leader to influence community members' perceptions of their authority and leadership, and how to create a positive image of leadership. In addition, the interaction between community autonomy and leader influence needs to be studied.
